The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Your Season 2 Predictions — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been intense.

The first season introduces a large cast of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive audience devotion.

The community's expectations for the new season vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator commented earlier this year. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how fast season 2 moves, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds now.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans create a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
